Honda develops shoe-based navigation system whose name is Ashirase

Honda Motor Company has recently announced a new branch company.  Whose name is Ashirase.  And as soon as it was established, Ashirase, the first product of this startup company, caught the eye of Techmahal.

Ashirase's first product is technically quite advanced, but it has nothing to do with cars.  The company is developing a special navigation system based on footwear to enable the visually impaired to walk on the road without any worries.  Honda's goal is to market the system by March 2023.  Note that the system is named after the company,Ashirase.

How Ashirase will work?

People who are blind or have poor eyesight face the biggest problems in their lives as soon as they set foot outside the house. Walking on the sidewalk with the help of a walking stick or someone else becomes essential. And this is where Ashirase came to make things easier.

Ashirase leads the way using a 3D vibration device with a smartphone app and a motion sensor electronic compass inside the shoe pair. By vibrating this device tells when to go straight, to the right, to the left or to stop. With the help of Global Positioning System, it takes a certain path to give updates at every moment. Again, the device vibrates and warns itself if it steps in the wrong direction.

The number of visually impaired people in Japan is projected to touch 2 million by 2030. As a result, Ashirase will play an important role in ensuring that those people can walk on the streets without worries.
