Earlier this week, the government announced that Indian citizens would soon be able to use the MyGov WhatsApp helpdesk to access DigiLocker. This service will make DigiLocker easier to use because you no longer need to use a separate application to quickly download and keep Aadhaar card, driving license and other necessary original documents.
DigiLocker is a type of digital locker. Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched this special 'diesel car' in July 2015. Now the number of users of this special locker has crossed 100 million. Digital Car was launched in the Digital India campaign.

What is a DigiLocker?
Digilocker is a digital platform through which various required documents can be matched, this work is done to avoid paper documents. Steps to Get DigiLocker access on WhatsApp.
Step 1: Save MyGov WhatsApp Helpline Number
Go to the dialer application on your phone and dial '9013151515'. Add this number to a new contact and save it with a name like MyGov or DigiLocker. Once the number is saved, you can easily find it on WhatsApp.
The new service will enable citizens to easily and conveniently access the following documents from their home security.
1. PAN card
2. Driving license
3. CBSE X X pass certificate
4. Vehicle Registration Certificate (RC)
5. Insurance policy - two wheeler
6. Tenth class marksheet
7. Twelfth class marksheet
8. Insurance policy document (life and lifetime available in dieselcar)
DigiLocker, a flagship initiative under the Digital India program, strengthens people's digital empowerment by providing access to authentic digital documents in their digital document wallet.
Documents issued on the Dieselcar system are considered to be equivalent to the original documents.
About 100 million plus people have already registered with DigiLocker and 5 billion plus documents have been issued so far, says Abhishek Singh, CEO of MyGov.
WhatsApp's service will digitally empower millions of people by helping them access authentic documents and information from within their phones, he added.
Step 2: Text to MyGov helpline on WhatsApp
Open WhatsApp and press the new chat button at the bottom right. On the next page, tap the three-point menu at the top-right and select the 'Refresh' option to sync your WhatsApp contact list with your phone contacts.
You can easily find MyGov or DigiLocker in the contact list. Send a 'Hi' to the number and the automated services will start in a few seconds.
Step 3: Set up your DigiLocker account with WhatsApp
Select DigiLocker from the message sent from the automated service and follow the next instructions in the same way. If you do not have a DigilCar account, choose the number option. You need to start your Digilocker service by typing your 12-digit Aadhaar number and an OTP sent to your registered mobile number. You need to enter the 12-digit Aadhaar number without any space. This also applies if you have a Digilkar account. After that you type OTP and you will get access to your account immediately. And you can download the documents in DigiLocker.
